Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN) or Welfare-to-Work

GAIN or Welfare-to-Work is a mandatory job program that helps you find employment, stay employed and move on to higher paying jobs, which can lead to helping you get off cash aid.

Child Care Program

If you are a pregnant and parenting teen, the Cal-Learn Program is a mandatory program that can help you overcome barriers and help you stay in or return to school so that you can graduate.

Specialized Supportive Services

If you are receiving CalWORKs and are meeting welfare-to-work requirements, you may receive Domestic Violence services, treatment for Mental Health and Substance Use problems, and Family Preservation Program services.
