The DPSS Housing Program offers a number of benefits and services designed to assist CalWORKs families who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness to move out of the current housing crisis into affordable permanent housing.

Additional Forms:

A homeless CalWORKs family can receive help with securing a permanent residence from any person or establishment with whom the family has executed a long-term valid lease, sub-lease, or shared housing agreement. The payments can cover costs such as last month’s rent, security deposit, and utility turn-on fees.  

The PA 956 – Housing/Utility Verification Form is a form that is acceptable to use in the interim to verify property availability and cost until a written rental/lease agreement can be obtained by a CalWORKs participant who is applying for Permanent Homeless Assistance or Moving Assistance programs.
