The U.S. Department of Labor serves America's veterans and separating service members by preparing them for meaningful careers, providing employment resources and expertise, and protecting their employment rights. This site lists many training and educational resources.

State of California Employment Development Department

The Employment Development Department (EDD) assists veterans and their eligible spouses maximize their employment and training opportunities. Veterans are entitled to many resources designed to help in their search for employment.  EDD representatives specialize in assisting veterans in their efforts to return to work.  They offer veterans a 24-hour priority hold on all job listing, customized job search assistance, job fairs, employer recruitment, and other events and resources.  Veterans are encouraged to schedule an appointment with an EDD representative for personalized services and assistance to achieve professional goals.

California Department of Veterans Affairs

The dependent child, spouse or unmarried surviving spouses of a service-connected disabled or deceased veteran may be entitled to tuition and fee waiver benefits at any campus of the California State University system, University of California or a California Community College.

Upward Bound

Upward Bound helps veterans transition more effectively into college. The Program provides free college prep courses in Computer Science, English, Math, Typing and Spanish. Students receive personalized attention from experienced instructors, as well as comprehensive support services. They are advised on GI Bill benefits and assistance with the college enrollment process.
