Know what kind of page you want to build.
It is easier to build a page in the AEM authoring environment if you have an idea of what the final page should look like. An outline or a simple sketch will help you organize your content before you start moving components around in the AEM editor.
Choosing the right template.

Responsive Layout
You will use the AEM layout editor to create the responsive page layouts. To create the standard two column layouts you will need to adjust the size of your components for the various breakpoints or device sizes.
If you resize components from the right they will stack into place.
