Important Medi-Cal changes for some qualified non-citizens.
Who Is Affected?
Certain qualified, non-citizens (including Refugees Asylees, Humanitarian Parolees, Domestic Violence and Trafficking Survivors, and Lawful Permanent Residence with under 5 years of residency without an exemption).
What Is Changing?
· October 1, 2026: Federal funding ends for full scope Medi-Cal for these groups.
· January 1, 2027: Eligible individuals will switch to state funded Medi-Cal moving from a managed care plan to fee for service care.
Action Required?
· Read and respond to all mail received from DPSS and the California Department of Health Care Services.
· Submit requested information and complete your renewals on time to maintain coverage.
