Supportive Services

Supportive Services are services provided to a participant to help them overcome barriers so that they can participate in the GAIN/REP program. The objective of supportive services is to remove barriers that may prevent GAIN/REP participants from succeeding in the GAIN/REP program and obtaining employment.

Ancillary Supportive Services

GAIN/REP provides ancillary supportive services payments to participants to cover the cost of items and/or services necessary to participate in GAIN/REP activities and/or to accept or retain employment.

Ancillary supportive services include payments for required books, tools, clothing, fees, supplies, and other items required to participate in the GAIN/REP activity (e.g., education, training, work experience) and/or to accept or retain employment. Ancillary supportive services payments are generally advanced to participants, when requested, so participants do not have to use personal funds to pay for the needed items and/or services.

Diaper Payments

GAIN/REP provides diaper payments to participants with children under 3 years of age (36-months), to assist in covering the cost of diapers.

Diaper supportive service payments are provided to GAIN/REP participants in GAIN/REP activities (e.g., education, training), participants employed in subsidized/unsubsidized employment, and participants granted Good Cause for non-participating. Participants are eligible for a monthly payment (per child) for all eligible children in the home.

Transportation

Transportation payments are available to participants who take part in GAIN/REP activities, to transport children to and from childcare/school, and to secure and maintain employment.

Payments are provided for public transportation, mileage, parking fees, or other alternative transportation methods (vanpool, commuter rail, rideshare, etc.), whichever is the least expensive.
