The Toy Loan Program is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that allows children to borrow toys from a Toy Loan Center in the same way as they would borrow books from a library. There are multiple toy lending libraries across Los Angeles County. The program promotes imagination, exploration and discovery. Donations of new or used toys and books are always welcomed for circulation throughout our programs.

This long-standing tradition brings smiles to hundreds of families DPSS serves annually. The program offers individuals and families a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive gifts by matching them with a sponsor during the holiday season. Once matched, the sponsor is able to purchase gifts using the family’s "Wishlist". Sponsorship forms are available for online submission at the beginning of October. This initiative includes a collection of items such as new feminine hygiene products, toiletries, socks, etc., which are assembled into care kits for distribution to our homeless residents and shelters.
