Would you like to participate in the Restaurant Meal Program?

Restaurant Meals is a CalFresh Program that allows you to use your Golden State Advantage (EBT) card to purchase prepared meals from participating restaurants. This program is available to you, if you meet one of the following conditions:

  • Homeless
  • Elderly - age 60 years or older and their spouse (husband, wife, common-law husband, common-law wife)
  • Disabled and their spouse (husband, wife, common-law husband, common-law wife) - Receiving Disability Benefits.

Purchasing Meals Is As Easy As 1 – 2 – 3

1.    Look for participating restaurants (updated August 2024) displaying the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) sign (below), or ask your Eligibility Worker for a list of participating restaurants.

2.    Purchase breakfast, lunch, and dinner from participating restaurants by using your Golden State Advantage (EBT) card.

3.    Receive a receipt for each meal purchase to show the cost of your meal and the balance on your Golden State Advantage (EBT) CalFresh benefits account.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is no longer handling the application and administration of the RMP. As of October 1, 2024, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has taken over the administration of the program. You must now apply and enter into an agreement with the CDSS to become an approved RMP vendor.

Apply By Phone
You can apply by phone. Call the Customer Service Center (CSC) (866) 613-3777 to have an application mailed to you.

Apply In Person
You can apply In person at any Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) District Office or outreach site.
