CALFRESH AWARENESS MONTH 2025: BUILDING HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES

May is CalFresh Awareness Month, a time to recognize the ongoing work of DPSS and its County and community partners to raise public awareness of the benefits of the CalFresh Program.

DPSS has launched an extensive countywide campaign utilizing its communication platforms, including video and social media, the Essential DPSS newsletter, District Office lobby monitors, advertisements inside L.A. Metro bus lines and community newspapers, and onsite participation at community events.

This year’s theme, “CalFresh Today, Healthier Tomorrow,” highlights the critical role CalFresh plays in supporting the health and well-being of thousands of low-income individuals and families by increasing their food-buying power to put more healthy food on their tables.
