Ready, Set, START!

Hello and welcome to the START Program! You have been assigned the Ready, Set, START! activity. This activity will provide you with information on what the START Program has to offer and how we can help you find the career of your choice. It will also prepare you for your second Case Manager Appointment (CMA) with your assigned START worker.

Ready, Set, START! Activity Instructions
To complete the Ready, Set, START! activity, follow the steps below:
  1. Complete the START Program Orientation.

    In case you have not completed the START Program Orientation, you can do so by telephone or online. To listen by telephone, please call (866) 488-8482 Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; or watch the video using the link below.

    Be sure to listen/watch the Orientation from start to finish. During your next CMA let your worker know you completed your START Orientation.

  2. Complete the Virtual START Learning Activity.

    After watching the Orientation video, you are required to view additional instructional work-ready videos through the START Learning activity. These videos will help prepare you for the START program by giving you tips and best practices regarding searching for a job and keeping a job.   3. Complete the Supervised Job Search Activity.

    You will need to complete 20 job searches. You must use the START 85 (START Supervised Job Search Assignment) form to document your searches. The START 85 form has instructions on how to complete your job search. Your worker can mail this to you, or you can download the START 85 using the link below.

You will have approximately three weeks to complete the Ready, Set, START! activity. It is important to complete the activity before your next CMA. If at any time you need assistance or have questions, please call your START Worker or call the Customer Service Center: at (866) 613-3777 to get your START Worker's contact information.

What to expect after completing the Ready, Set, START! Activity

 

You will be scheduled a CMA with your worker. It is important that your worker has proof you completed the Ready, Set, START! activity. You are required to provide verification that you completed the Supervised Job Search Activity. Please mail or drop off your completed START 85 form on or before the due date to the location listed on the ABP 1461 mailed to you.

During your CMA, your START Worker will validate the completion of the Ready, Set, START! activity by: 

  1. Asking if you completed the START Program Orientation.
  2. Asking if you viewed the START Learning videos.
  3. Reviewing your case to determine if you submitted your START 85 (START Supervised Job Search Assignment) form.

Note: If you are attending your CMA in person, you can submit your START 85 to your worker during your appointment.

Please complete this activity before your CMA. Completing your Ready, Set, START! activity will help you get ready for what the START Program has to offer you.   

If you can work, you are required to complete this activity and participate in the START Program. If you are not able to work due to medical reasons or cannot participate in START for any other reason, contact your case worker immediately, or call the Customer Service Center: at (866) 613-3777 to get your START Worker's contact information.
