Welcome to the employment section for veterans and employers.  This webpage is a resource of employment opportunities for veterans. There are websites listed below that target women veterans and veterans with disabilities and employers looking to hire them. This page is updated regularly weekly and new posting are displayed.  If you are an employer looking to hire a veteran, contact one of our Business Specialist from our Employer services section.  

Department of Human Resources' Veterans' Internship Program (VIP)
The program is administered by the County of Los Angeles Department of Human Resources and provides paid internships for qualified veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States. The internships were designed to afford veterans with on-the-job training and work experience with the County of Los Angeles that will enable them to effectively compete for permanent County jobs. Submit your applications for the following six classifications:

  • Veteran Intern Administrative Support
  • Veteran Intern Crafts Support
  • Veteran Intern Heavy Maintenance and Operational Support
  • Veteran Intern Information Technology Support
  • Veteran Intern Office and Clerical Support
  • Veteran Intern Technical Support

Please Note: Your placement on any eligible register(s)/list(s) does not guarantee an interview and/or appointment. Your name will expire from the eligible register(s)/list(s) after six months. You may then reapply.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, this website provides employment and training resources and information for veterans entering the workforce.  There is information for all veterans including job search tips, and sections for disabled and women veterans.

Getting Hired

This website offers a variety of job tools and information for job seeking veterans with disabilities.  The site connects veterans with disabilities with employers who are looking to hire and accommodate veterans with disabilities. GettingHired provides several resources to provide our job seekers a better chance of finding and securing their next position. No matter how much experience you have—a lot, a little, or none at all—you can use these resources to prepare for your job search and learn how to effectively present your skills and talents to potential employers.

Job Accommodation Network (JAN)

JAN provides free consulting services for individuals with physical or intellectual limitations that affect employment. Services include one-on-one consultation about job accommodation ideas, requesting and negotiating accommodations, and rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related laws. Although JAN does not help individuals find employment, JAN does provide information for job seekers.  This site is available in Spanish.

Military Hire

MilitaryHire.com is the leading job and resume website for veterans! We have thousands of jobs currently available worldwide. These jobs have been posted by hundreds of companies who appreciate the quality and dedication the military veteran brings to the private sector. We allow veterans to post their resume and search our jobs at absolutely no cost.

Los Angeles County Poll Workers

Be part of the election process and use this website to apply for a pollworker.  You can earn anywhere between $80 and $175 for working on Election Day and attending training. There are two different types of pollworkers: Inspectors and Clerks. Both are paid a stipend for their time. While Inspectors serve as supervisors for the polling locations, Clerks assist with a variety of conventional tasks. Pollworkers must be available between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. to set up the polls, provide assistance to voters and conduct poll closing procedures.  This is a one day job assignment.

Los Angeles County America’s Job Center of California

Provide free one on one career counseling, including training programs, EDD on site services, computer training, employment preparation workshops, access to job leads plus free use of tools such as child watch (3 hours per day), computer and printers, internet access, phones, fax, copy machines and more.

Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services (VR&E)

The VR&E Vet Success Program assists veterans with service-connected disabilities to prepare for, find, and keep suitable jobs. For veterans with service-connected disabilities so severe that they cannot immediately consider work, Vet Success offers services to improve their ability to live as independently as possible.

Employment Development Department

Services can include counseling, labor market information, job referrals, job search workshops, and job development with potential employers. All veterans are eligible for the Veterans Intensive Program. Special assistance is available for veterans with service connected disabilities.

Veterans Job Bank

The Veterans Job Bank powered by NRD.gov provides Veterans with a central source for identifying Veteran-committed employment opportunities and assists America’s employers in identifying qualified Veterans. It facilitates access to hundreds of thousands of private-sector job openings specifically targeted at Veterans.

Hire Heroes USA

Hire Heroes USA is dedicated to creating job opportunities for US military veterans and their spouses through personalized employment training and corporate engagement. Services are provided at no cost to veterans.

Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) of Los Angeles

JVS Veterans First provides the following services: Professional career coaching to navigate the civilian business and workplace culture; Assessments to help identify transferable skills for civilian jobs; Job placement assistance and Veterans Job Club; Referrals to other VET programs to maximize VET benefits and other services; and Occupational skills retraining.


eBenefits is a portal; a central location for veterans, service members, and their families to research, find, access, and, in time, manage their benefits and personal information. It offers a personalized workspace called My Dashboard that provides quick access to eBenefits tools were veterans can apply for benefits, download the DD 214, and view benefits status, in addition to other actions as needed.


Milicruit is a virtual recruitment center where service members, veterans, and military spouses can meet and interact with military friendly employers in real time. It offers the opportunity to visit employer booths, view/apply for jobs, chat with recruiters during career fairs, and email them directly off hours or in between event days.

My Next Move

My Next Move for Veterans is an easy-to-use online tool created by the Department of Labor that allows veterans to enter information about their experience and skills in the field, and match it with civilian careers that put that experience to use. The site also includes information about salaries, apprenticeships, and other related education and training programs.

Veteran Gold Card

The Veteran Gold Card provides post-9/11 veterans with extra support as they transition out of the military. Once a veteran has downloaded the Veteran Gold Card, he or she can access six months of personalized case management, assessments and counseling at the roughly 3,000 One-Stop Career Centers located across the country.
