In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
The IHSS Program helps pay for services provided to low-income elderly, blind or disabled individuals, including children, so that they can remain safely in their own home. IHSS is considered an alternative to out-of-home care, such as nursing homes or board and care facilities.
Some of the services that can be authorized through IHSS include: housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services (such as bowel and bladder care, bathing, grooming and paramedical services), accompaniment to medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired.
PAPER TIMESHEETS ARE GOING AWAY!
TIME TO GO ELECTRONIC OR TELEPHONIC
Los Angeles County will gradually begin mandatory enrollment of electronic timesheets or telephone timesheets beginning July 1, 2019. You must begin using one of the following two options below to submit, review, approve, or reject timesheets.
Electronic Services Portal (ESP)
Available 24 hours a day/7 days a week
Telephone Timesheet System (TTS)
1-866-376-7066 (select Option 4.)
Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
What do I need to sign up?
Providers and recipients enrolling on ESP must have their IHSS recipient case number or IHSS provider number, social security number, and a valid email address to register.
Recipient Case Number:
May be found on your IHSS paperwork –Notice of Action, Provider Timesheet, etc.
May be found on your IHSS paperwork – Provider Notification of Recipient Authorized Hours and Services and Maximum Weekly Hours, Provider Timesheet, etc.
Recipients enrolling on TTS do not need an email address. Recipients must call the IHSS helpline (888) 822-9622 to request a Passcode (formerly known as a RAN).

PAID SICK LEAVE FOR PROVIDERS
On July 1, 2018, all active providers who work for an IHSS/WPCS recipient can earn paid sick leave. Providers must complete a one-time, * two-part requirement to earn and use paid sick leave.
- A provider must work 100 hours for an IHSS recipient to earn paid sick leave hours.
- To use paid sick leave hours a provider must work an additional 200 hours or wait 60 days, whichever comes first.
