Tribal TANF

The Torres-Martinez Tribal Consortium has assumed authority for providing cash benefits and employment services for Native American Indian families in the County of Los Angeles.  Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) provides welfare services to needy Indian families in the same fashion as the County of Los Angeles, including job-readiness training, assistance in finding a job, and supportive services to enable Native American Indians to leave the program and become self-sufficient.

Tribal TANF families are eligible to receive 60 months of time on aid as they are subject to the federal regulations, not State regulations.

If you need additional information about Torres-Martinez Tribal TANF or would like to schedule an appointment, you may call (888) 787-TANF (8263).  Tribal TANF is designed to meet the unique needs and challenges of all Native Americans.
