Community Action Board (CAB)
The Community Action Board (CAB) is a mandated board under Federal Law and generally oversees the implementation of the various social service poverty programs funded with the County's Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) allocation. The CAB was established by Board Order No. 107 on December 18, 1979.
The CAB is the Community Action Agency's tripartite Board which consists of fifteen members. Five (5) members represent the Public Sector; five (5) members represent the Low-Income Sector and, five (5) members represent the Private Sector.
VISION STATEMENT: Successful self-sufficiency and well-being for all in Los Angeles County
MISSION STATEMENT: To 1) empower the poor to become self-sufficient, 2) alleviate poverty's immediate challenges, and 3) address poverty's underlying causes through community action and advocacy.
Community Action Agencies are governed by Community Action Boards (CABs) comprised of representatives from the community from the public, low income and private sectors. The primary responsibility of the Los Angeles County CAB is to serve as the advisory board for the implementation of the social services and anti-poverty programs funded by Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).

The CAB meets every third Thursday of the month. Meetings are held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Department of Public Social Services (unless stated otherwise), located at 3400 Aerojet Ave.- 2nd Floor Conference Room, El Monte, CA 91731.
