Work Measurement Studies
A Work Measurement Study is a systematic analysis of the nature of work performed and the time it takes to complete a task or series of tasks. It is primarily used to measure tasks that are routine in nature and do not involve significant variations from task to task. Techniques used to collect study data include structured estimation, stop watch, work sampling/random moment studies and automated self-recording.
Service Request Protocol
The requestor’s Bureau Director must submit a written request to the Director of Bureau of Special Operations. The study request must include:
- The process/function to be studied
- The objective/goal of the study
- Expected study completion date
The Director of Bureau of Special Operations will review the request, and forward it to MRS for further evaluation.
