PRE-PAYMENT PLAN

Use this plan at any County medical center for clinic case. If you pay within seven (7) days of treatment, you do not have to prove your income, other resources, or family size. CHILD-DELIVERY PLAN

This plan covers labor and delivery service for pregnant women.For herself, each mother must pay $800 within seven (7) days after she leaves the hospital. For her baby, each mother must apply for Medi-Cal.

NO EXTRA COST MEDICINES

All clinic patients can get medicines at no extra cost for emergency and public health services.

PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP) PROGRAM

This program provides primary care services at no cost if you qualify. These services include family practice, prenatal care, pediatric care, and women's health care. It also includes medications and referrals for specialty care.

Eligibility is based on signing a self-certification form indicating that the applicant does not have Medical, Medicare or any private health insurance and that the total net family income is AT or BELOW 133% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Documentation of income is not required. See chart below for income limits.

If you receive Medical, you may be required to choose one of many health plans which provide quality medical care. The health plans in Los Angeles are divided into two managed care organizations:  LA CARE and Health Net

FREE AND LOW-COST HEALTH SERVICES

If you need medical services, they are available at public and private clinics, hospitals and many other locations. Medical services including tests and prescriptions are provided on an ability-to-pay basis and can be provided at no cost depending on your income. AIDS DRUG ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (ADAP) (888) 575-2327

If you are 18 years or older and HIV positive, this program will provide assistance with obtaining approved medication at no or low cost.

BREAST CANCER EARLY DETECTION PROGRAM (BCEDP) (800) 511-2300

This program provides free breast cancer-related services for low and moderate income women age 50 and over (or 40 and over if high risk). You may call from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

FAMILY PLANNING, ACCESS, CARE & TREATMENT (FAMILY PACT) (800) 942-1054

Low income women, men and minors without health care coverage for family planning services, may receive services through a program called Family Planning, Access, Care & Treatment (Family PACT). For information and referral services, please call the above telephone number for the location nearest you.

HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUM PAYMENT PROGRAM (HIPP)

If you are eligible for Medi-Cal and are seriously ill with high cost medical bills and have or have access to private health coverage, this special State Medi-Cal Program can help you pay your health insurance premium. Certain restrictions may apply. For more information, call (800) 952-5294.

MENTAL HEALTH

You may be eligible for free or low-cost mental health services. For more information, please call (800) 854-7771.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE

If you need treatment for drug or alcohol abuse, there are places where you can get help. Some programs allow you to live at the facility while undergoing treatment. For more information, please call (800) 564-6600.

CalWORKs

If you are a family with children up to age 18 in need of assistance, you may be eligible to get cash, Food Stamps and Medi-Cal through the CalWORKs Program at your local Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) Office.
