A federal health benefits program for persons who are aged, blind or disabled and eligible to
receive Social Security or Railroad Retirement Benefits.

Who can be covered?
Persons eligible to receive Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits due to age (65 years or older),
disability or blindness who have received Social Security for at least 24 consecutive months, chronic renal disease.
Is there an income limit?
No.
Is there a property limit?
No.
Can an individual receive services if he/she has other health insurance?
Yes.
How much does it cost?
Premium for Part B ($88.50 in 2006).
Deductibles.
(State will pay premium if beneficiary also receives Medi-Cal.)
Is citizenship or legal residency required?
Yes.
