Question: If it is discovered that a participant is using the District office address as the residence address, is the GSW required to take any specific action?
| |
Answer: Review the LEADER comments screen or contact the EW to determine if the situation requires assigning "good cause" to resolve a non-compliance issue. Notify the EW via a GN 6184 or a GN 60016 and follow up with a phone call to the EW if homelessness does not appear to be noted on the LEADER case. |

Question: Can homeless participants be granted good cause indefinitely?
| |
Answer: No, homeless participants are to be granted good cause for only 3 months at a time. Additional time is only granted if the participants housing situation is still in a state of crisis. All requests for good cause beyond the first three months must be reviewed by the GAIN Services Supervisor. |

Question: Should GSWs refer homeless participants to Welfare-to-Work activities? |
| |
Answer: Yes, the GSW is to encourage the participant to participate in Welfare-to-Work activities which will lead to an increase in income and/or remove barriers to participation, such as PWE and Mental Health services. Having additional income and/or barrier removal will help the participant attain stable housing. |
