General Description: The Los Angeles County Fraud Hotline is for reporting suspected fraud incidents or other misconduct by County employees, contractors, and vendors.  You may choose to remain anonymous when reporting suspected fraud.  Employees reporting fraud are protected under the County's "Whistle-Blower" ordinance, County Code Section 5.02.060. Board of Supervisors

General Description: CSS provides comprehensive human services in partnership with community leaders, business and private agencies.     General Description: Alzheimer's Day Care Resource Center Clearing Homes are centers in the community that provide specialized day care for persons living with dementia.  Each center provides: day care for persons with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias, respite care for caregivers, counseling, support groups and training for families and caregivers, training for center staff/professionals/students/lay public, and public information concerning Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

    General Description: The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is responsible for identifying unmet needs of older adults and functionally-impaired adults as well as planning, coordinating, and implementing programs that promote the health, dignity, and well-being of the County's residents. The agency provides referrals to assist older adults maintain independent living (in-home services, housekeeping, homemaking, personal care). Services also include senior lunch home-delivered meals and emergency disaster preparedness.

    General Description: Adult Protective Services (APS) is a State-mandated service program which investigates situations involving elders (age 65 or older) and dependent adults (physically or mentally impaired 18 - 64 year olds) who are reported to be endangered by physical, sexual or financial abuse, abandonment, isolation, abduction, neglect, or self-neglect.  Any endangered elder or dependent adult is eligible for APS without regard to income.

General Description: The mission of the Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department (CSSD) is to improve the quality of life for children and families of Los Angeles County by providing timely, accurate and responsive child support services. The very core of what CSSD does is predicated on the belief that both parents, based upon their current circumstances and stations in life, are responsible for the economic support, health and emotional well-being of their children.  CSSD is the largest locally-operated child support program in the entire country.

General Description: The Department of Children and Family Services provides a comprehensive child protection system of prevention, preservation, and permanency to ensure that children grow up safe, physically and emotionally healthy, educated and in permanent homes.

This department also assists with foster care and adoption services and investigates child abuse and neglect complaints.  It also accepts reports of confirmed or suspected child abuse and neglect concerning any child in Los Angeles County (24 hrs. 7 days a week).  The Department also contacts the appropriate agencies to intervene to protect the child, if necessary, and it provides information for professionals and the public about child abuse and neglect.

General Description: The Community Development Commission (CDC) serves as the Housing Authority within the County of Los Angeles, administering both the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and the Public Housing Programs. CDC's Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program has approximately 21,000 vouchers available.  Presently, 10,000 property owners partner in the program. The Public Housing program currently has 2,961 units available throughout Los Angeles County.  The Housing Authority website offers renters such tools as an online Waiting List which allows participants to update or check the status of their rental assistance application for both the Section 8 and Public Housing programs.

General Description: The District Attorney of Los Angeles, as a constitutional officer and the public prosecutor acting on behalf of the people, is vested with the independent power to conduct prosecutions for public offenses, to detect crime and to investigate criminal activity.  The District Attorney advises the Grand Jury in its investigations. By law, the District Attorney sponsors and participates in programs to improve the administration of justice.

General Description: Some individuals attempt to steal the money or home equity of homebuyers and homeowners through fraudulent real estate transactions.  This type of crime can have a serious impact on its victims.  As a result, the District Attorney's Major Fraud Division has a Real Estate Fraud Section dedicated to prosecuting fraudulent real estate transactions.
