Welcome to the Civil Rights Section (CR Section). The CR Section is part of the Research, Evaluation and Quality Assurance Division which belongs to the Bureau of Special Operations.

The CR Section is a multitasking entity in which very diverse operations are performed. The two units handled by this section are Civil Rights, and Translations.

The Civil Rights Unit investigates participant allegations of discrimination and monitors all DPSS sites and DPSS contractors public contact offices for compliance with Division 21, California Department of Social Services (CDSS) regulations as well as American with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.

The Translations Unit assists the Department in translating forms, notices, and other documents in all eight threshold languages. For more information on submitting forms for translations, please refer to the Translations Unit page.
