Video Profiles of CalWORKs Families in Need

On January 10, 2011, Governor Brown released his proposed Budget for 2011-12.  One of the proposals would have eliminated cash benefits for families that have received CalWORKs aid for 48 months or more. This proposal was not adopted by the Legislature.

If adopted, the proposal would have impacted 34,500 families and about 62,000 children in L.A. County.  These two CalWORKs participants share the hardships that would have befallen on the family without CalWORKs assistance and resources.
